I have recently cancelled my energy direct debit due to not being able to afford the rise as it is nearly double the cost of my previous direct debit. I was paying £139.99 per month and now it is £247 per month on direct debit. I was nearly £400 in credit at the end of the year so was paying to much for my energy anyway.

Now that my direct debit has been cancelled ovo have raised the daily standing charge and unit cost for my gas and electricity. I am paying them £200 per month and that won't cover my usage due to the increase in the charges. 

This petition is to urge the government to prevent energy companies charging more due to the way the bill is payed. If the customer is not in debt with their bill why should they be charged more for pay as you go energy. 

Make energy a standard charge regardless of how you pay.
