Stop Drug Licenses and Advertisement License Fee Increase

Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia has informed Malaysian Community Pharmacy Guild (MCPG) that they would like to hold a meeting where they will possibly announce a proposal to introduce or increase the fees in licensing for:
- License A, B and E holders for medicine
- Import / Export of Psychotropics Permit
- Sales and Use of Psychotropics Permit
- Sodium Hydroxide Permit
- Wholesale License for Dangerous Drugs
- Import / Export of Dangerous Drugs
- Approval of Medicines Advertisements
These fees increase will not just affect your local pharmacies. It will also affect the chain of distribution from suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers of medicine.
It will affect any industry involved with use of Sodium Hydroxide.
It will also impact cosmetics, nutritional, traditional and medicine product business owners as there might be changes in approval for advertisements for these products.
In this gloomy economic climate, where businesses find it more challenging to grow or even stay afloat, we believe that the government should GIVE incentives to businesses instead of increasing the financial burden that they already bear. The biggest impact will be on small - medium entrepreneurs, where they are just catching a break or trying to grow their; cosmetic or traditional medicine business, for example; either in print, online or through mass media.
At the least, if there is no stimulus or incentives offered, business owners should not be burdened by these potentially extra costs.
The objective of this petition is to appeal to Ministry of Health to drop their intention to increase fees for permits, licensing and approval and help support local businesses.
You can help by supporting this petition, where we will bring your voice to a meeting held between MCPG, other stakeholders and KKM on 14th June 2017.
