Teachers, staff, and other adults in our schools have seen a tremendous increase in the level of disrespect from teens. Students feel comfortable and are uninhibited in directing derisive actions and language towards those involved in their educational environment. There is an increase in foul language, inappropriate comments, mockery and even bullying from teens towards the adults who are working with them inside and outside of the classroom. Educators feel defeated when incidents are overlooked and the student too often walks away with little to no consequence for their actions. Let's review these disciplinary guidelines in our schools to ensure that each and every student understands that adults are not  "emotional punching bags". Educators and all staff need to feel supported by their administration, so LET'S THINK ABOUT HOW TO BRING A NEW LEVEL OF MUTUAL RESPECT INSIDE OUR CLASSROOMS, HALLWAYS AND SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.
