Dear chief service officers and founders!

Allow me, on behalf of the many freelancers, digital nomads, and those who fled the Putin and Lukashenko regimes, to explain my position on the blocking of the payment services.

Today we are witnessing that the digital nomads movement - a symbol of freedom and labor without borders, which you have been so enthusiastically promoting - has come under threat.

We are sympathetic to all the sanctions that can even slightly help stop Putin’s aggression. At the same time, we ask you to approach them thoughtfully.

The restrictions you have adopted have affected us:

• Those who left Russia and Belarus long ago, living, growing digital businesses, paying taxes, and benefiting a civilized society;
• Those who left in the last days - fleeing from the punitive machine,
• Those who are right now packing their bags in terror, or standing at border checkpoints, or sneaking across closed borders - from persecution and police squads.
• Those who consider themselves digital nomads - people who stand for a world without borders, for freedom and unification.

We, like you, are shocked and appalled by the bloody war waged against a brotherly people unleashed by a single insane individual.

We are on the same side as our Ukrainian brothers. We help them in word and deed.

In our homeland, we are threatened for up to 15 years(!!!) in prison for pacifist statements (a law that has been passed on March 4, 2022).

For many of us, your paying services are a way to survive and hide from this tyrannical regime, to have access to our bank accounts and the possibility of working officially, to help our brothers who are suffering from a terrifying war. 

Without your services, many of us who fled from Russia and Belarus would become refugees and dependants, instead of contributing to a civilized society.

We also suffer from this situation (of course, to a lesser extent than our Ukrainian brothers).

Today, by blocking payment services in good faith, you probably do not realize that you are working in concert with Putin and Lukashenko. 

By this decision, you are sowing even more animosity between our nations, breaking logic and turning an audience loyal to the democratic principles into disgruntled followers of Putin.

By this decision, you are leaving many people in refugee status unemployed and without the ability to manage their hard-earned money.

We agree that the sanctions policy must work in the name of freedom. But we ask you to make such decisions more selectively. Otherwise, you are shooting at your digital people.

We do not support the war. We have no influence over anyone making decisions. 

We are on your side. Please, don't cut us off from the opportunity to work and help the digital world!

Our immeasurable support for Ukraine and for a society that fights evil.

Позвольте от лица множества фрилансеров, цифровых кочевников, а так же лиц, бежавших от тиранических режимов объяснить свою позицию по поводу блокировок сервисов.

Сегодня мы увидели, что термин “цифровые кочевники” - символ свободы и труда без границ, который вы с таким энтузиазмом продвигали, оказался под угрозой.

Мы с пониманием относимся к санкциям, которые хоть немного могут помочь остановить эту агрессию. Вместе с тем мы просим подходить к ним вдумчиво.

Принятые вами ограничения затронули нас:

• тех, кто уже давно уехал из России и Беларуси, живя, платя налоги и принося пользу цивилизованному обществу,
• тех, кто уехал в последние дни - бежав от карательной машины,
• тех, кто прямо сейчас в ужасе собирает вещи, или стоит на пограничном пункте, или пробирается через закрытые границы - от преследований и отрядов полиции.
• тех, кто считает себя цифровыми кочевниками - людьми, выступающими за мир без границ, за свободу и объединение.

Мы так же, как и вы, потрясены и шокированы кровавой войной, который развязал против братского народа один единственный человек.

Мы на одной стороне с нашими братьями-украинцами. Помогаем им словом и делом.

На родине нам грозит 15 лет тюрьмы за эти высказывания.

Для многих из нас ваши сервисы - возможность хоть как-то существовать и скрыться от этого режима тирана, иметь доступ к банковским счетам и возможность официальной работы. 

Без ваших сервисов многие их нас, бежавшие из России и Беларуси - становимся беженцами и иждивенцами, вместо того чтобы приносить пользу цивилизованному обществу.

Мы тоже страдаем от сложившейся ситуации (само собой, в меньшей степени, чем наши Украинские братья).

Сегодня, блокируя их из хороших побуждений, вы вероятно, не осознаете, что работаете заодно с Путиным и Лукашенко. 

Таким решением вы сеете еще большую вражду между нашими народами, ломая логику и обращая аудиторию, лояльную западу - в недовольных последователей Путина.

Таким решением вы оставляете множество людей, оказавшихся в статусе беженца, безработными и без возможности управлять своими честно заработанными деньгами.

Мы согласны, что санкционная политика должна работать во имя свободы. Однако просим производить такие решения избирательно. Иначе вы стреляете по своим.

Мы не поддерживаем войну. Мы не имеем влияния на кого-либо, принимающего решения. 

Мы на вашей стороне. 

Наша безмерная поддержка Украине и обществу, которое борется со злом.
