Hello! In recent days, OHV commercial touring has begun within the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. Not only is this a severe fire danger, but is also a danger to the landscape of our local monument. Some how OHV business's have been allowed access without permits saying they do not fall within the permit category. The OHV tours have been an ongoing issue within our community and are continuing to disrupt the neighboring Carson National Forest by tearing up existing roads and creating new ones. Local ranchers are being affected with tourists cutting fences and pushing cattle to different areas. Wildlife has also been pushed into different hunting units making it harder for locals to live off the land. As a community, we need to protect our local area and act now so future generations do not reap the repercussions of these careless acts. Our front yard is already being affected, so lets protect the back one!
