Stop Christine Yurgel, "Animal Rescuer" Selling Parvo Infected Pups!

Christine Yurgel has been running an "animal rescue group" named Pound Puppy Protection Rescue in South Plainfield, NJ. Ms. Yurgel has years of complaints against her organization. In January 2011, following formal complaints against Christine Yurgel and her "animal rescue group", the township of South Plainfield's Board of Health shut down her rescue, citing her with health hazard violations and operating a kennel in a residential neighborhood. She was cited a $330 fine, and ordered not to continue "rescuing" animals. Despite this order, Ms. Yurgel continued to "rescue" animals from animal shelters and adopt them to unsuspecting families.

In December 2011, the NJ SPCA formally charged Ms. Yurgel with 5 counts of Animal Cruelty, following three complaints from recent adopters. Ms. Yurgel "pulled" a litter of 6 pitbull mix puppies from a Maryland animal shelter and brought them to NJ. The puppies received no veterinary care upon arrival, were not properly quarantined and were adopted to unsuspecting families with forged health certificates. Within days of the adoptions, three of the puppies fell ill and were diagnosed with Parvo. As a result, two of the puppies have died. The third puppy diagnosed with Parvo survived, but not after extensive medical treatments and astronomical medical bills. The status of the remaining three pitbull puppies from the litter is unknown.

We are asking for signatures in support of prosecuting Christine Yurgel, d/b/a Pound Puppy Protection Rescue, to the fullest extent of the law, and to ban Ms. Yurgel from being allowed to run an animal rescue and/or "pull" animals from any shelter in the United States.

PLEASE take a moment to sign our petition against another member of this organization. Lisa Cremone-Burden had three dogs & one cat seized from her home, after Animal Control Officers found the animals emaciated in tiny crates with no food or water in her basement!

Letter to
North Brunswick, NJ Municipal Court
I have signed this petition in support of prosecuting Christine Yurgel, d/b/a Pound Puppy Protection Rescue, to the fullest extent of the law. Ms. Yurgel has a long history of complaints filed against her "rescue" for unscrupulous activity, including not quarantining the animals properly, failure to provide animals with necessary veterinary care & vaccinations, lying about the business' 501(c)3 status and pocketing adoption fees.

The most recent accusation of puppies from her "rescue" dying from Parvo is not the first. Several adopters over the years have had puppies fall ill days, or even hours, after adoption. The result of the adoption of sick puppies is mountains of vet bills, heartbroken families and deceased animals. Ms. Yurgel refuses to accept responsibility for actions, despite knowing that these animals are sick when she is selling them. She adamantly refuses to reimburse families for their adoption fees, and refuses to assist in the payment of veterinary bills incurred by the adopter.

Ms. Yurgel does not properly quarantine or vaccinate the animals in her "rescue", and continually puts the health & wellbeing of animals in harms way. Ms. Yurgel has shown a clear disregard of the laws of the State of New Jersey, as well as a clear lack of compassion for animals and their families.

I am asking that Ms. Yurgel be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for each charge of Animal Cruelty, and be banned from running an animal rescue and/or "pulling" animals from animal shelters in an effort to continue her fraudulent "rescue" operations.
