I love Armenia and I love my beautiful people. Our people have given their lives for the preservation of a culture given to us by our great kings and queens, by our great poets and artists. Sergei Parajanov, an Armenian director whom we worship, has been put in jail by a foreign power for making The Color of Pomegranate. We condemn the destruction of Armenian culture in Turkey and Azerbaijan. In the same way we should celebrate and encourage the creation of new works of art by our beautiful and beloved Armenian artists. As an antidote to destruction, against all those who have wanted to erase our culture from the face of the earth, we should stimulate Armenian creation. Works of art created by Armenian artists should not be forbidden in Armenia. The Armenian culture, our divine language and our spirit shall thrive.

We are calling upon the organizers of the “Golden Apricot” to protect the films selected by them, instead of an apology, as well as to restore the whole program and screen all films in another place and to publicly condemn the actions of the Union of Cinematography of Armenia. Only by restoring the program the festival can keep and protect its' former reputation.

We do not need to oppress our community members or people seen as "other". Take the high road - the moral road - do not censor and oppress others.
