Exxon Mobil is the richest company in the USA and the world. It also receives the WORST rating for LGBT equality under the Human Rights Campaign equality index: a disgraceful MINUS 25 (yes, -25).
88% of Fortune 500 companies provide workplace protections for LGBT employees even when not required to by law. But not Exxon. No. Never. Year after year it refuses to add sexual orientation or gender identity to its list of groups protected from workplace discrimination. And it provides ZERO benefits to spouses of LGBT people.
So rather than begging them to change their stance, STOP giving them one cent of your money. Instead, wherever humanly possible, give your money to one of these companies (equality rating out of 100 listed in brackets):
BP America (85)
Shell Oil (85)
Spectra Energy (85)
