Stop Bullying In Our Schools

Stop Bullying In Our Schools
Why this petition matters

OCTOBER IS World Bullying Prevention Month
Bullying has become an epidemic. It affects mental health, leads to suicide and mass shootings. Our school system is riddled with the problem and our schools do not appear to be addressing the concern no matter how many people complain.
I myself was bullied relentlessly in middle school; but because my bully played football, he never receive any consequences. He cut my hair in class, put gum in my hair in class, called me trash, spit at me, and would say the most awful things. He nicknamed me scar face. This was in the 1990's; and 20 years later my daughter was bullied by "mean girls" who were never punished. They were volleyballers. I sent her to a different school district since no one wanted to address the issue. My youngest is in private school because I cannot deal with District 413 without losing my temper. It brings me such fear and anxiety to even think about putting my child in the public school system.
I know children who have been verbally tormented, physically assaulted, even having to go to the emergency room.
WE as PARENTS need; no, we MUST STAND TOGETHER and DEMAND CHANGE. Change the policy! Notify the parents of the bullied and the bully. Have the parents of all involved participate in a resolution. Demand Mental Health professionals be present in ALL the schools for help. Demand a NO Tolerance for bullying.
It should not matter what the child's last name is, if the child is from a wealthy family, the doctors kid, the judges kid, the cops kid, the teachers kid, the city commissioners kid, and so on. There should be consequences for bullying NO MATTER WHAT!
This DEEP ROOTED EPIDEMIC of bullying in our schools needs to END!
Lets come together and tell our schools to start an antibullying program.
Thank you for your support.
