Brian Griffiths started this petition

The principal of Chesapeake High School in Pasadena, MD invited a political group to organize a "chalking event" in front of the school for a "Unity Day" observance. The messages chalked in front of the school spoke of unity and acceptance, but also displayed political messages. A message was sent to school parents promoting the event and the political group's involvement.

Their participation turned a "Unity Day" event into a day of strife and disunity, further dividing the school community.

EVERYBODY (or just about everybody) wants to make sure that we live in a society where people are free to live their life without discrimination. However, this type of agenda pushing has the opposite effect. Instead of encouraging people to change their behavior, it is putting people on the defensive because they themselves are now being attacked.

Our schools should focus on the fundamentals of education, not partisan politics.

Sign this petition to tell Anne Arundel County Schools leaders to stop collaborating with partisan political groups on in school activities.
