Why this petition matters

Started by Rachel Reid

Did you know that we don't have anything like the 4th amendment here in Australia? Which means that Police have the right to stop you at any time, even if you are not committing an offence or doing anything to warrant them to stop you moving freely on our roads? Under the guise of a "random breath test", which is also arbitrary in itself. this is an absolute violation of our human rights, and has opened the door for police to harrass & intimidate law abiding citizens. Police should not and, under most circumstances, do not have the right to stop you for no reason.

Majority of democratic societies do not allow this draconian law to exist, yet here in Australia we do.

Please sign the petition  if you want to move freely, without every single time you drive on the road, risking potential harassment and arbitrary stops.
