PETITION
TO THE CITY OF BOCA RATON

RE: Proposed Aletto Square/Aletto at Sanborn Square Development

 Because of the unconscionable traffic Aletto Square would cause in the entire downtown,  the detrimental impact on Sanborn Square and its use and enjoyment by the public, and the impact on pedestrian safety, we the undersigned:

1.    Respectfully implore the City of Boca Raton, the CRA, and the Planning and Zoning Board to reject the development of the Aletto Square project as it has been presented.

2.    Reject the request to transfer office equivalent square feet from Subarea A. Such transfer will result in development over the limit for that Subarea.

3.   Greatly reduce the density of the project, and building height,  to mitigate the amount of traffic the project would generate. We feel the amount of traffic this project brings to a traditionally peaceful and largely pedestrian area is unacceptable  and dangerous.

4.   Reject any requested technical deviations. The project  needs consideration for two of the same deficiencies…inadequate drive lanes at two different locations…showing that it does not fit in the space.

5.   Retain and incorporate the facades of the historic buildings that would otherwise be demolished to maintain the historical nature of the area.
