Petition:

City of Vaughan File No.: Z.11.042

Applicant and Appellant: Ozner Corporation (South)

Subject: Application to Amend existing Zoning of Residential Townhomes and Local Commercial Zone to 2 APARTMENT BUILDINGS-379 UNITS

Address: South-East corner of Weston Road and Retreat Boulevard in the city of Vaughan legally described as Lot 22, Concession 5

Once again, Ozner Corporation (South) has submitted a request to the City of Vaughan to rezone our corner of Weston Road and Retreat Blvd to allow a permit for Two (2) - 12 Storey Apartment Buildings in total 379 units in our beautiful suburban low rise neighborhood!

We won this battle before, and WE WILL WIN IT AGAIN!

Last time we won by an outstanding turn out at City Hall where our voices were heard and our local councillors and Mayor rejected Ozner's corporation rezoning plan!

Ozner corp has appealed again, and this case is now under Ontario Land Tribunals whom have notified us in writing of this notice:

The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal ("Tribunal") will conduct a Case Management Conference ("CMC") by video for this matter.

This CMC will be held:

AT: 9:00AM

ON: Tuesday, October 13, 2020

AT: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/509324093

Access Code: 509-324-093

The Tribunal has set one (1) day for this CMC. The event will be held using the GoToMeeting service. Parties and participants are asked to log in to the video hearing https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/509324093  at least 15 minutes before.

Our voices may not be heard due to Covid 19 but our actions will speak louder!

Let's engage and voice our rejection by signing this Petition!

Also if you can, please try to attend the online meeting on October 13th as indicated.

This intersection  must continue as Low-Rise existing zoning : Residential Townhouse Zone and/or Local commercial Zone.

Can you imagine two towers in this corner?

This is a family neighborhood where we jog, walk, cycle and breath fresh air and gaze at the sky...not at highrise towers.

In addition we have hundreds of students who cross this intersection daily on foot or bike.

Let's keep it that way:

A Safe, Enjoyable Vibrant Family Community!

Proud resident of Vaughan, our community, and city leaders.

Sincerely,

Paula Simoes
