Please consider signing this petition against the planned Spington Development on the former Equestrian Estates property between West Road and Dominion Blvd. to Number 10 Lane. The current Zoning of A-1 and R-15 (Zoned per the Dominion Blvd Corridor Study) does not allow for high density housing at this location nor does this type of development fit into the adjacent neighborhoods, all with a minimum of 1 acre lot. This is why the developer is asking for the property to be re-zoned. This development  will add 1096 units with the largest planned lot of only .25 acres on property originally planned for 22 homes with 3 acre lots minimum. If built, the current drainage issues for the north end of West Road will be increased, there will be an influx of new students to an already strained school system with no dedicated middle school, and add to a seemingly unchecked boom of development in our once rual area with no regard for the existing homeowners. What was the point of the Dominion Corridor Study if the city keeps granting waivers on Zoning? The first planning commission meeting is on October 12, 2022. Please attend this meeting in addition to signing this petition.
