We, the undersigned, Town of Stony Point current and past residents, businesses and non-profits stand up for democracy and urgently request that the TOWN OF STONY POINT Supervisor, Jim Monaghan and the current town board members immediately enact a policy to both VIDEO RECORD and LIVESTREAM all town meetings on an easily accessed streaming platform like ZOOM. This petition supports the right of all THE PEOPLE OF THE TOWN OF STONY POINT to exercise our collective right within an American Democracy to listen, learn, discuss, speak freely and fully participate and have our voices heard on any aspect of local town government meetings, remotely if needed. 

We urge the TOWN OF STONY POINT to immediately take this important action to not only provide greater local government access and transparency and protect the health and welfare of our Stony Point town residents now, especially during a current rising infection rate of the COVID-19 pandemic – but to also allow greater access going forward for any resident who is unable to attend live town meetings in person for any personal, business or health reason. The video recordings of all town meetings must be timely posted and archived on the Town of Stony Point website with online links to any relevant public documents provided for town residents.
