SAVE THE TREES OF NORMACOT

Stoke-On-Trent City Council, are planning on building a 25 Space Car Park on the site of a set of Grade A Trees on the land of Lower Spring Road, Normacot. Which are a local delicacy, for the local community of Normacot. The Car Park is set to only accommodate for 25 car parking spaces. Where the council is set to destroy the local environment for simply 25 spaces which is going to cost the tax payer a grand total of £170,000 which can be used in other sectors such as children services and things that can be used to benefit the local community. The trees of Normacot bring a local landmark to the area, providing a beautiful scenery, and a great local community outreach which is set to be used by many generations to come.  If this treasured space is lost the community loses the very little greenery that is left in Normacot.

If this car park was to go through it would have a detrimental impact on Normacot's  community, and environment. As if it were to be built then it would cause the environment and the wildlife in the surrounding area to be drastically impacted as wildlife's habitats will be destroyed, not only this but the trees are currently a health benefit to the local community as it is set next to an extremely busy road; the A50. so this allows for a healthier community, whereas building a carpark in this space would only attract more; Congestion, Months worth of roadworks and building, massive disruption to the flow and habits of Normacot through noise and increased traffic levels. Also further to this if this car park, were to be built there is always a chance of increasing anti-social behaviour, vandalism and drug abuse in and around the area for where the car park is set to be built if it is successful. What we want from this is for it to be an open green space for the community, and if a car park is slammed in the middle of it, then this will not be the case. As the local surrounding community DO NOT want this.

Our aim is to stop the planning permission for the car park, and allow Normacot to keep the open green space in which they treasure and to save the Grade A trees. The aim of this is to receive ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND signatures. And for it to be debated within the houses of parliament for how this was ever considered for a car park, and for the way it has been handled.
