Stolen Skate started this petition to Stirling Council

With Stirling being such a busy city, the skate park hasn't enough room for everyone. Expanding the skate park would open doors for the next generation of athletes. Our Skate park needs a Stair set, ledges, a flat grind rail and a smaller mini ramp.

Since the bowl at Kings Park is reasonably large, it would make sense to have a small mini ramp to learn and practice skills on before taking it to the bigger ramps. Increasing the size of the park would also greatly increase the variety of obstacles. Having a variety of different obstacles is important because different people want to skate different things and while Kings Park is great for transition skating (bowls), there isn't much to skate street wise. Having a street section at Kings Park would substantially decrease the amount of skating taking place in the streets and on private property.

Skaters, scooters, bikers and any other skate park go-ers undoubtedly get exercise from their sport and isn't a healthy Britain what we're working towards. Physical activity is important but so is social activity, this addition to Kings Park would allow more people to enjoy the space and would ignite friendships that may last for years. Having more visitors at the skate park would also help out local businesses including the Pavilion located inside The Kings Park.

Skating is now in the Olympics and that is bringing more attention to the sport. Lets band together and make this skate park more accessible to beginners and increase its usefulness to the more advanced athlete.
