This petition had 2,069 supporters the undersigned Vehemently oppose and deplore any proposed or yet to be proposed legislation on the following. The culling, safari hunting, or rezoning of saltwater crocodiles in Queensland. Certain politicians and pro culling supporters  want saltwater crocodile culling reintroduced in order to reduce their numbers, they want you, the electorate to believe that saltwater crocodile trophy hunting safaris would bring  increased tourist  revenue and reduce the number of attacks but that is nothing more than rhetoric, tourists flock to Queensland and the top end to observe large saltwater crocodiles in their natural environment, culling and enforced removal could actually decrease tourist revenue and even increase the chances of attacks. With a cull in place people may believe there will be less Crocodiles around and drop their guard even further. We SUPPORT education not eradication. Education is the only way forward to manage human wildlife conflict, improved signing and the croc wise program as a sustainable way to co exist with crocodiles. Removal only as a last resort. We currently have an online survey running in conjunction with this petition. Should we receive enough votes this petition will be forwarded to Steven Miles, Queensland Environmental Minister were it will hopefully be used to challenge Senator Bob Katter’s unfounded claims.
