Save Killin's Bus Service

On the 30th of December 2017, the bus service running from Killin through Lochearnhead, Balquhidder and Strathyre to Callander will be terminated, and is not due to be replaced at all, with the recommendation being for local residents to request a DRT (Demand Response Transport). The Killin to Callander bus service is crucial to the livelihoods of many Killin residents, providing, for many, the only way to reach dentist appointments, transport to hospital, seeing relatives, even just to commute to work. Losing this service would be a dreadful thing for the village, leaving us isolated and cutting off vital links which many businesses - and people - depend upon.
Furthermore, not only would a DRT service clog the roads and put off tourists, it would also have a negative effect on the environment and make Killin far less attractive for new families wishing to move to the area.
To Steven Kerr MP, Bruce Crawford MSP, and to Stirling Council we urge you - do not scrap this vital service. Ensure that Killin remains connected through public transport.
