My name is Olivia Kemp. I was born and raised here in Nevada and attended school here from k-12 and more. I remember going to school and enjoying my time with friends and all the great teachers I had through my years. 

Now I am a mother and have two children who attend your Washoe County School district. But I am here reaching out on behalf of all the other upset and tired parents. 

We as parents should have the parental choice for our children and them having to wear a mask or not. It is noted that masks are RECCOMENDED. It is also been proven time after time that they don't work. If you have seen the current Emmys, MET gala, baseball games, football games, etc. with MORE THAN 100,000 people not having to wear masks. 

Here's what gets me the most. Our own children are  ALLOWED to play tag with each other, sit next to each other, eat with each other WITHOUT a mask but when it comes to plays, graduations, etc. you want us to MASK them?

At this point in the "pandemic", if you are a parent or have a heart. You will too agree that making our children wear masks is cruel, unfair, goes AGAINST our freedom of choice, and is ruining our children's way of learning. Which is seeing their peer's and teacher's faces with true emotions, creating distance, and is isolating. Now if other parents want their children to wear a mask, and that makes them feel more safe, then so be it. But again, it is the PARENT'S choice.

We are demanding you lift this "mandate" and let our kids be kids and BREATHE. It is OUR choice what we want for our children, and under no legal right, for you. Or you will soon see us parents stand up and walk away to give our children a true space of freedom and learning.
