I live in Las Vegas where there is plenty of opportunities to get a job, buy a house, and just simply start from nothing. I drive around at night and I see cops kicking homeless people out of parks, which in most cases are where they sleep. What is the point of waking them up and kicking them out of parks in the middle of the night?  A lot of people see homeless people and stereotype them, "they just want money to buy drugs" "they did that to themselves", but if you have ever taken two minutes out of your day to even acknowledge the presence and/or speak to them then you'd know that most of the things that happened to them were out of their control. Las Vegas is such a big city with plenty of space and I think that we should use up those spaces to make homeless shelters just to give them a place to sleep, and feel comfortable. They shouldn't be getting woken up to cop cars and sirens trying to kick them out of the only place that isn't crowded with people at night. Vegas is one of the most talked about and visited cities in the world and we are more than capable of making a few homeless shelters around the city. I'm only 17 and even I can see that we as a a community can be doing better.
