Please Join Us in Support of More Recycling Pickups in Whitefish Bay!

Let's work together to make our voices heard!  We know that recycling is important to our world, and that it is intrinsically tied to climate change.

We also know that it is not enough to only have ONE opportunity a month to recycle everything for a household in Whitefish Bay.  Many people throw out things that could be recycled simply because they are out of space in their recycling bins.  We need a recycling pick up at least twice a month, or even better, a WEEKLY pick up of recyclable materials.

We would like to see increased recycling pick ups offered to residents without an additional surcharge on homeowners or businesses.

Please sign the petition and help us present a united front to the Whitefish Bay Village Manager, so it is known how important recycling is to our community, and how much we would appreciate more recycling pick ups.  Thank you for your support!

"The EPA estimates that 75% of the American waste stream is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it."  (Source: Indiana University. "Waste & Recycling." Web Accessed April 25, 2015)

"Recycling and waste reduction are actually very much related to climate change. The energy used in the industrial processing of virgin materials and in their transportation, involves burning fossil fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and coal, all major sources of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases."  (Source: University of Michigan. "Recycling and Climate Change." Web accessed January 29, 2017).
