On the 3rd March this year Streatham was affected by a significant water outage. Thames water made a special commitment to compensate customers outside of their usual compensation scales for this period. Unfortunately despite this promise, the offers that some of us have received have been significantly lower than expected (in some cases nothing!) and usually accompanied with a letter stating that they have investigated and are confident we were with water during that time (the cheek!).
Please sign this petition if you were effected by the water outage and haven't received the correct compensation:
Customers will receive £30 if they were affected for between four and 12 hours, rising to £150 for up to 72 hours.
This company has the monopoly on our supply and are taking advantage of the fact they are bigger than us, by calling us liars and then telling us we are unable to talk to them about this issue again. The strategy appears to be to fob us off with a mixture of excuses to get out of their commitments. It is unfair and unacceptable and they need to be held to task. It isn't even about the money anymore, it is about the principle.
I am challenging Steve Robertson, CEO of Thames Water, to be honest and accountable and to compensate customers to the level they deserve.
