This quarry would threaten species on the Endangered Species list including the Mainland Nova Scotia Moose, Snapping Turtle and Nighthawk.

It would ruin the fragile ecosystem which currently supports a large variety of rare species of plants and amphibians.

It would contaminate a spring and wetlands that lead to Whale Lake which is the headwaters for the Mush-a-mush River System where endangered Atlantic Salmon spawn.

With asphalt production and up to 50 trucks per day, the air quality would be ruined in a now pristine wilderness area thus affecting the health of neighbors as well as flora and fauna.
