REQUEST TO THE STRATFORD DTC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

The Stratford Democratic Town Committee has consistently displayed a blatant unawareness and disrespect for the thoughts of the constituents of their committee and the residents of this town. They have repeatedly ignored the input of the residents of this town and have purported to speak for the masses when they have not spoken with the masses. Their members have acted belligerently and irresponsibly and continually swept important and pressing issues "under the rug" to preserve their outward appearance to the town.

The most recent example is the "Response to BOE" letter where they continue to push their untrue narratives as the belief of their entire party.  This letter shames the decisions of our elected town officials and pushes a political agenda with the untrue notion that the Board of Education supports segregation.  There has never been intent of any town resident or elected official to segregate children or any resident.  The town has been allowed time to discuss and respond.  While there is no doubt there are people both for and against this plan, there was no manipulative efforts by the decision makers or immoral decision making.  This plan does not "set the bar low", in fact, it will engage communities to be more involved in the towns education system.  Regardless of personal opinion of the realignment topic, it does not allow an excuse to assume any ulterior motive.  This Response is not an accurate representation of our community, whether for or against the realignment.

We are asking that Stephanie Phillips, Harold Watson, Immacula Cann, Stephen Raguskus, and Steven Taccogna immediately resign as the Executive Board of the Stratford DTC and allow a new team that will work well with others, support their candidates and constituents, and behave in the manner that a town leader should.
