Dear Stephen M. Ross, 

I am a proud alumni of the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. 

At Ross, I met and worked with classmates from all backgrounds and perspectives. I learned to collaborate in the face of difference. I was challenged to create value without sacrificing ethics. I shared with my classmates a commitment to make a positive impact on the world through business. Above all, we respected and supported our peers, regardless of their race, religion, country of origin, first language, sexuality, or gender.

These experiences and values stand in stark contrast to the behaviors of Donald J. Trump. The racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-LGBTQ, and often violent language of the President would not be tolerated in the halls of the school that is your namesake. In fundraising for the President, you are not only endorsing him, you are enabling his divisive and dangerous rhetoric and policies. 

Mr. Ross, it is troubling to me and many of our fellow alumni that you would align yourself with President Trump. I urge you to cancel your plans to host this fundraiser on Friday, August 9th. Now more than ever, we must respect and protect ALL Ross students, alumni, and our families and neighbors.
