As most of us know, the Ontario education system is a mess. High school students should have the opportunity to learn about taxes and how to do them. Each year grade 12 students graduate and then they're on there own not knowing how to do their own taxes. They are left to either learn from their parents, hire someone to do them, or never really know how it works. I myself (17) am graduating this year and when someone asks me "What is one thing you wish you learned in high school?" I always answer with a simple "I wish I was taught how to do taxes." Adulting is already frustrating as it is, and doing your taxes doesn't help with that especially when you have no clue where to even start. I believe that there should be a new subject corresponding with math, a subject specifically based on learning how to do taxes. Stand up for yourself and future generations to come.
