Non existing community services for Children with additional needs
Communities across the country are experiencing non functioning primary care services. These teams are in place but offer services that have wait times that run up to and above 3 years . Currently in Dublin alone there is a three year wait for OT and early intervention services. The clue is in the name early intervention which is vital to young children all over Ireland who are faced with a variety of disabilities ranging in severity and with cognitive impairments. It’s just not good enough the HSE and Government pawn this off to the pandemic all this has done is merely highlight the mess that is now very apparent to most parents trying to support a child with additional needs within a community setting. We pay tax to have access to what is now liking to a very sub standard of service and care to the next up and coming generation. It’s simply not good enough to allow this to continue Speech and language has a wait time of 18 months how this impacts a young child’s ability to socialise and interact causing further stress to them. We as parents need to take action and stand up and say NO this is not acceptable WE want basic accessible supports for our CHILDREN not to have to climb mountains to achieve it. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SIGN AND SHARE THIS PETITION ITS ONLY WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER UNFORTUNATELY THE GOVERNMENT LISTEN . We want a service that runs as described and is inclusive to all children not a private sector that feeds off what the government fails to provide the BASIC RIGHTS OF A CHILD
