Petition to retain an updated version of the 11plus and retain College Subsidies

Life is competitive, the current 11 plus exam does need updating, however it is important that children are put in the most suitable schools for them and this is influenced by ability. An exam at 11 helps that process. Then currently if a child does not pass the 11 plus many parents have the ability to send their parents to a Private College. Without the current subsidies keeping these fees affordable this option will be closed to so many meaning less options open to more parents to find the school best suited to their children where hopefully they feel their child would be happiest. All workers contribute to Gsy Tax and Social Security therefore all should be entitled to a proportion of their child’s education cost to be covered, or they should be able to opt out of making these payments and use these funds towards educating their own children. The changes being brought in by the States remove that choice from parents and will force most people to comply with their choices for our children or force parents to be financially crippled.
