Aaron Flores started this petition to State Senators and

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 meaning every state has to at least pay employees that wage. However, states also have their own minimum wage, with only two states being below federal minimum wage. The proposed plan will raise the federal minimum wage to $15 which would affect EVERY state and their economy. This would close small businesses, raise prices on goods and services and treat all state economies the same. You can not compare California to Wyoming, one state needs higher wages because they are the most expensive state to live in, the other doesn't need higher wages because of their cheap cost of living. The proposed $15 plan would effect each and every citizen of the US, inflating the economy by pumping more money into it. Only the huge corporations would be able to keep up with the wages, dooming the smaller, local mom and pop shops to debt and bankruptcy. Leave the choice up to the states to decide what a living wage is, don't leave it up to the federal government to determine your states needs! Fight for state wage increases, sign the petition to prevent federal minimum wage changes!
