Calling a primary election when there is no opportunity for absentee voting on a holiday weekend when many are out of town and on super short notice for no good reason is an affront to the Democratic process. How would Speaker Howell feel if the tables were turned and Democrats forced ill timed primaries on the GOP so they couldn't properly choose their representatives. For shame!
This does not provide sufficient time for a deliberative process, and calls for an August election when many of us will be away. This shows a callous disregard for one of this state's major parties and will not soon be forgotten.
