Elite Futures is an American deli and convenience store that distributes foods primarily meat, cheese, and line items that include toiletries, and groceries. The convenience store serves as a focal point of community engagement. Our customers can purchase a variety of different products and services. Elite Futures' primary goal is to provide equitable and respectable employment for returning citizens, current community residents, and the marginalized population overall. It is through our transitional training with the food, safety, and sanitation, entrepreneurial-ship can blossom and emerge as a positive and constructed way to create and sustain an income. Healthy communities are cultivated through support and its commitment to growth. Elite Futures respectfully understands that consistent employment significantly reduces the violence in urban communities and the likelihood to reoffend due to a positive routine that strengthens skills and redirect risky behavior. The lack of important resources such as foods and employment can drive criminal behavior, but when one has community support accountability practices are implemented. Elite Futures has a true commitment to community building through realistic employment/training for all populations. The location’s design to catch the attention of those customers who are in a hurry and would need to pick a few things to satisfy their needs. Equally, the operation hours help significantly in helping the community feel satisfied. These traits have a significant advantage to the community by offering affordable and readily available alternative food supply. They also bring items of necessity closer to the households saving the people much time.

Elite Futures is a fresh business that will be located on the southwest side of Chicago in the Back of the Yards. In that particular area, food deserts exist, and Elite Futures is sensitive to community needs by providing an affordable deli and convenience store. While setting high-quality standards, customers can expect to receive every visit. It will create a space of mobility and access to jobs and training that will also address the property crime that is the most prevalent in the Back of the Yards. Studies show that viable employment can reduce criminal activity. We are bridging the gap offering inclusive services for our returning citizens and community residents alike. This plan inheritably supplies a solution for two identifiable needs, which are proper basic hierarchical needs and decreasing violence.
In most of the business setups, it becomes easy to survive if a given enterprise can withstand the pressure within. However, Elite Futures needs not to worry about any forms of operational pressure in this new neighborhood. It is because it has a significant competitive advantage in that it is the first and the only one at the moment. Therefore, it will have a vast chance of primarily winning the people in the community. The products or deserts to be provided in Elite Futures also looks forward to making people in the low earning group can make a decent living. It will achieve this by offering job opportunities as well as selling them food staff at relatively lower prices.

Elite Futures can transform our corridor by uniquely becoming the first business to provide employment and skills-based training to returning citizens and current community members while addressing the food desert crisis and reduction of crime. Job creation is produced and equitable opportunities are fairly distributed to cater to multiple demographics. Unlike other businesses on our corridor, Elite Futures diligently tackles recidivism through programming by creating employment that aids in communal growth, socioeconomic status, and skills-based training. Our citizens can matriculate through programming/training and gain relevant employment to increase their career readiness. The implementation of this validates that everyone is treated equally and has a fair opportunity to be successful through pipelines and networks.
Culturally, Elite Futures is a milestone project that looks forward to transforming the business in the area. For this purpose, the business offers training services to willing groups that will increase the number of entrepreneurs. It is through ample and productive training that individuals become well skilled and competent. These training sessions and the program will see to it that the community gets more skillful business people. Also, through offering freedom of searching for other job opportunities to its members, Elite Futures will help the community develop from within itself. For example, the trained members of the community will start their businesses and earn their income. The training also bases on equal chances and all the community members have equal chances of enrolling in the program making it more helpful.

Elite Futures will be a freshly renovated building, installed with large translucent glass windows located on a corner near a main street. Communities are obligated to feel safe, with this in mind the design strengthens safety because the structure will illuminate walkways and streets through the stores’ glass reflection. As safety increases this opens and enhances the opportunities for new neighboring business on the corridor. Safety provides security which assist in the development of establishing new business partnerships. Elite future seeks to use the grant to re-image and develop property for community residents and returning citizens.

My brand as an individual business owner is rooted in uplifting the community by providing economic opportunities and skills based training. I am an organizer and hands-on in active community building. I understand the intrinsic value that these services serves among the community and the contribution of ones’ personal growth. By separating Elite Futures into training and services, the above floor will function as a community room where food safety training and entrepreneurial sessions be conducted. The main floor operates the distribution of deli goods and additional services. The trained members will develop entrepreneurial minds and in future bring in generations of new businesses.
