Alvin "TENDER" Davis sits in Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite, Oklahoma Correctional Facility serving a sentence of life without parole for killing a man in his own home. Tender a first time offender with no priors has been in prison for almost 20 years.
A heat of passion killing is considered 1st degree manslaughter by the state of Oklahoma. Heat of passion without rational thought of the consequences of their actions.
TENDER now a grandfather has taken every program that the Department of Corrections offers despite no time off his sentence. TENDER has been a model inmate in almost 2 decades TENDER has never had one misconduct in some of the toughest prisons in Oklahoma.
His 3 daughter along with other family and friends have started a social media campaign to raise awareness of TENDER's unjust sentence. TENDER a native of the Creek Freeman tribe was convicted of 1st degree murder with forethought and malice for a heat of passion killing which Oklahoma considers 1st degree manslaughter. TENDER's sentence should reflect his crime. Life without parole is unjust. .
TENDER is a perfect example of someone using prison to better himself. TENDER deserves a second chance.It was never 1st degree murder with forethought and malice it was a heat of passion crime which the state of Oklahoma considers 1st degree manslaughter and he should at the very least be resentenced accordingly.
