After living four homes from this intersection for over 20 years, we have witnessed many changes. We have also witnessed many accidents. Fortunately most accidents were mainly material losses. However there are four crosses at this intersection, three on the east and one on the west side. These crosses stand in memory of lives lost in the past.

Recently we have had two collisions within a month. One resulted in life flight from two different area hospitals being summoned.

I understand that the speed limit cannot be dropped in this area since coming off from US 30 at 70 mph you can only drop in 15 mph increments. 55 mph must be the speed limit. I would like to propose that there either be a round-about at this intersection or an overpass that extends from 224 to the south, bypassing Lincoln highway, the bike trail, old tile factory road and Van Wert Decatur road.

Clearly both options would be costly. The round-about option, I'm guessing would be less cost prohibitive. As stated before, most losses have been material and I for one would prefer to not see human loss as this is a very busy intersection and many family and friends travel it regularly.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this request. We would all prefer to see less accidents in this area.

Sincerely

Sherri Arn
