My Father, Everett McNutt, aged 60, was shot and killed in a private family residence that he was overseeing.  He had his suspicions that a local boy and his girlfriend was hiding out on the premises. He had just retired and had only received his second retirement was on his desk at home. On Nov. 2, 1994 he went to check on the old homestead in Tollesboro, Ky. Upon entering and going through the house he found the local boy and the girl. Daddy turned and that 's when the boy fired the gun, a .22, into his back and right side. That was Cold-Blooded Murder. Miller was 17 at the time, but turned 18 in the coming months, so he was tried as an adult. He admitted to this heinous crime in court.  However, I am the one who found Daddy. I will never get that scene out of my mind, nor heart. Daddy was a good man. He was a welding teacher for many years and helped many boys in our community. He was a Mason, and was involved with Shriner's Hospital. There was so much more he could have done in life, but in an instant, it was gone! He was my rock, and my daughters too. She loved her Papaw. He was full of life, love, and laughter. If he wasn't laughing or picking on you, there was a problem he was working on. If a family couldn't afford to get to Lexington or Cincinnati Shriner's Hospital, he'd take them, no problem, no questions asked. And in my heart of hearts, I know he was willing to help this boy who ultimately took his life. He was upset with him, I'm sure - breaking and entering - but Miller never gave him a chance to help him. To that end, my daughter used to ride the bus with him to school. Miller grew up very poor, no one would sit with him on the bus, except my daughter. She even gave him a coat when he was cold. This is the way we are to treat each other, it's how I was raised and how I raised my daughter. What this boy did was so wrong, I can't find the right words.  But we need your signature by September, as we will be travelling to make our Victim Impact Statement and beg that Parole WILL NOT BE GRANTED. Thank You so very much.

Note: The picture I posted was from his 47th birthday. He was not one to like his taken, but he did tell me liked this one.
