Rio Dell currently lacks dedicated non-motorized paths along the Eel River for pedestrians and bicyclists to enjoy and experience the beautiful environment of this area. A proposal exists to create a segment of the new "Great Redwood Trail" along the banks of the Eel River through Rio Dell and create opportunities to exercise, experience nature and learn about the Eel River.  We need your help to make this happen!

The Great Redwood Trail is a proposed non-motorized route that would connect travelers from as far south as Marin County to Eureka and north primarily along an old rail right-of-way. This trail proposal is also part of a specific local plan for a Eureka-Scotia bicycle pathway. The trail would include educational displays to learn about the river including its history, local plant species and the broader Eel River watershed.   

Using state grant funds, we can make this happen! But we need your support for this idea!
