For years the citizens of Prichard, Alabama have been mistreated, misused and used by the Prichard Water And Sewer Board. Forced to pay ridiculous high water bills, with little to no assistance or understanding from the Board. Prichard Water and Sewer Board is a corrupt entity who, for years, have prayed on the citizens  they serve by charging for water usage that they have estimated and not physically confirmed the accuracy of their meter readings. Prichard Water And Sewer Board has zero understanding when it comes to citizens who have received bill that are thousands of dollars higher then normal. My personal experience with this entity has been horrible to say the less. After receiving a $2,300 water bill for, what they say was for 167,000gal of water that we supposedly used at our personal residents within 34 days. Before this bill our water bill on average was $78 per month. After contacting Prichard Water, the customer service reps argued me down that I had a leak and that’s why the usage is so high. Even after knowing that there is no way would could have a leak that’s leaking 5,000 gal of water per day and not see any signs of water inside or outside of the house, I hired a plumber to check. After the plumber confronted what we already knew which was no leaks, I contacted Prichard Water with the results of the inspection and they continued to argue that we have a leak. Not one time did they send nor mentioned sending a technician out to check the property, instead their response was that the numbers that were manually inputted in their system indicated a leak. After weeks of back and forth conversations with them they never changed their position and cut our water off days before Thanksgiving and I was forced to pay $300 the Monday after Thanksgiving to have water restored, and agree to a payment arrangement, which I would sign. There is a total of 7 people in our home including 5 school age kids. After researching and talking to others that are familiar with Prichard water, I found out that this was nothing new and that this has been an ongoing issue for years. The Lagniappe mobile and local newspaper recently reported on a ongoing investigation concerning Prichard Water and Sewer Board, where an audit was done on there financials. This investigation uncovered years of business funds being used for personal affairs. Millions of dollars unaccounted for and records of personal trips and other personal items being paid for with company funds. Enough is enough it’s time for the citizens voices to be heard. We can move mountains when we band together. All I’m asking is for your signature to support the new movement to DISSOLVE Prichard Water And Sewer Board. We the citizens are feed up with being used, mistreated, and unheard.
