Why this petition matters

Started by Mp.6789 R

Action needs to be taken immediately in order to protect all citizens from police brutality. As of right now, victims of police brutality and their families cannot get the justice they deserve. Prosecutors and district attorneys have for too long put politics before human lives and do not pursue charges no matter how heinous the action. This proposal would allow each individual state to have their own Police Brutality Commission in order to investigate, and publicly report and make a recommendation on potential charges. They will ensure that both sides can be heard in a fair, transparent matter, and the correct decision can be made. This isn't a liberal or conservative policy, this is a policy for fairness in our system. Hopefully, we can make better police training techniques in order to prevent any of these incidents from happening at all. We also implore the states to make Police Training Commissions in order to make sure that de-escalation and non-violent ways to arrest and detain suspects are preferred options over the use of lethal force.

Please share this far and wide!
