I'm seeing all these states writing legislation to stiffen the penalities on sex traffickers. However, I'm not seeing that there are programs being set up to provide aftercare treatment to the victims. No one just recovers from this type of ordeal without a lot of work, and care from people who understand this issue. Tightening the laws and arresting more traffickers is great - but they're ignoring the needs of the victims. I want these committees and boards and everything else I'm seeing set up to do something about this - to also set aside a provision for the victims to be provided with help.
