We, Indians take pride in being closely attached to our culture that emphasizes greatly on its ethos and moral values . Respect and care for our elders is one of the most important heritage , the youth is supposed to carry forward. However , it is shocking and disheartening to know about the present scenario where every 10 elderly couples in India, more than 6 are forced by their children to leave their homes. With no place to go and all hopes lost, the elderly have to resort to old age homes, which do not guarantee first class treatment.

The Maintenance law for senior citizens 2007 assures each district to have one old age home each however in practice there exists no such old age homes .
