Anzac Day marches have been tentatively cancelled in the blue mountains regions of NSW admist disputes from state governments over the excess expense for anti-terrorism measures required for the event.
The Anzac Day Commemorations and Marches are an integral and inseparable part of our nations history and identity. This comes during the 100 year anniversary periods for the ANZAC sacrifice in World War 1. Almost 417,000 of our countries fighting age males fought during the conflict. 60,000 died and a further 156,000 were wounded, gased or taken prisoner.
Since that time many more hundreds of thousands of service men and women have served, fought and sacrificed to protect our nations interests and the Anzac Day March is an event that ALL returned servicemen and women and families participate in annually and an event that the Australian public should attend in a safe, secure and peaceful environment.
