BUILDING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY BOAT LAUNCH RAMPS AT OR NEAR SEACLIFF ADELAIDE, S.A. LIFE SURFING CLUB BEACH FOR SAFETY, CONVENIENCE, TOURISM & RECREATION.
There are 277,000 fishers and a significant number of Recreation Marine Vehicle & Boat owners in Adelaide which only have access to ' two ' main Boat launch ramps that are 20km's apart from each other for the entire Adelaide community! One at O'sullivans and the other at west beach.
This is not only embarrassing for Adelaide it is a major Safety concern and a significant inconvenience for everyone. As it often happens, one of these launch ramps can be closed escalating the response time for the launch of Coast Guard to attend a distress call within a reasonable and critical time frame.
The proposed location at Seacliff is already in use by many boat owners, however, due to launching directly from the beach sand Majority of people get bogged in and is only suitable for very small boats (The launch of Jet Skies is prohibited ). Also due to the shifting sand, the vehicles often diverge into the path of general public on the beach with children.
SIGN THIS PETITION NOW IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR & OTHERS SAFETY including the many other benefits provided.
The costs involved are insignificant for the return in benefits for the entire Adelaide community.
