Territory transfer
Territory transfer
Why this petition matters
We, the residents of Pike Township Road 72, request to change territories of school boundary from River View Local Schools to Tri-Valley local schools. We feel that this change would not only benefit the students, but would also benefit both independent school districts.
Current boundaries just do not fit today’s needs for students, or for the parents of these students. With the closing of Union Elementary and the transferring of those students to Warsaw, this additional time spent on the school bus is a detriment to the students’ education. Not only that, but it takes away from the parent’s ability to spend quality family time, along with student’s time available for school work.
High School students are on the bus for almost four hours per day and elementary students are on the school bus for three or more hours per day. This time is mainly coming home from school, and without a restroom available. We are sure that River View has looked long and hard into solutions with no feasible answer regarding busing time vs. busing expenses.
There are several students at this time that are currently open-enrolled and attend Tri-Valley, with parents that are able to provide their own transportation. However, this is not an option for all of the students that reside on Pike Township Road 72.
At the time the districts were established the district lines may have made sense when Union Elementary was also a high school, but today, they just do not. Please consider helping us redistrict Pike Township Road 72 Frazeysburg, Ohio from River View Local Schools to Tri-Valley Local Schools.
Thank you.
