Refund of money from SBI lost due to unauthorized transactions and SBI's negligence
On 30/11/21 there were 10 unauthorized transactions altogether of 89405 rupees from my SBI account through Paytm UPI. I did not even received a sms from the bank regarding any of the 10 debits. Later on at night of the same day when I checked my balance and found the money gone I called the SBI helpline immediately. The helpline told me that all the 10 transactions were unsuccessful and even after I told them that the transactions were unauthorized and fraudulent the bank did not take any initiative to refund it within 3 days thus exploiting the bank's own norms. I told the helpline to register my complaint but all the SBI customer care did was to block my ATM and UPI and did not register my complaint.
On 1/12/21 I filed FIR and visited my bank branch. I completed all the required proceedings. Later when I called the customer care again to register my complaint, the SBI customer care executive lodged my complaint wrongly. Instead of my repeatedly telling them that it was unauthorized they registered the complaint as transferred to wrong account. This shows SBI's negligence towards its customers. Now new true complaints can't be registered under the same transaction numbers. I emailed to every single ID which I was told to. There has been no response at all from the bank at all. The SBI helpline whenever I call them say that their system is down and to call in 1-2 hours.
This has been going on for the last 5 days. The bank is not at all ready to help me. All the SBI is doing is to play a blame game. No one is taking any initiative to refund my 89405 rupees. For a middle class family like mine it is a huge amount and is the outcome of rigorous hard work. I kindly ask all of you to sign my petition so that I can get a refund of the unauthorized transactions. The SBI's negligence and unprofessionalism is very profound towards its customers. A so called national bank is not at all ready to help its customers and moreover worsens the situation.
