There is never a scenario where hitting and publicly humiliating a child is ever acceptable. I hope this family has hired an attorney to sue this individual for abusing their child physically and psychologically. He absolutely should be prosecuted.

Outrageous! In every way!

That 6 year old should not have been paddled over a computer screen. And the way Melissa Carter “spanked” her and BERATED her afterwards, I have no words. She traumatized the girl, she scared the mother, she BEAT the girl for crying out loud! Corporal punishment has been banned for five years in Hendry County, yet Carter decided to paddle this terrified 6 year old? If you’re going to use pain to teach a lesson, you’re only going to instill fear and anxiety.

And the State of Florida lets Carter keep her job for breaking the law? Inexcusable.

Why wouldn’t you let the parents be parents for heaven’s sake? Why wouldn’t you have the courage to remove your paddle? Why can’t you get down to her level? And if you can’t do all three, you shouldn’t even be principal.

I do not believe in Corporal Punishment. It doesn’t work, it instills fear and anxiety, it promotes aggression (which is what we don’t want in our kids), it worsens behavior problems, and it hurts (physically and psychologically). Children need discipline, children need a safe environment, children want to learn and to grow, children DO NOT need to be paddled.

Ms. Carter is still listed as the principal at Central elementary. The superintendant and two school board members has failed to respond to several emails regarding Ms. Carter. I have received no response from Fla. DCFS regarding an intake of child abuse I submitted. The school district and Fla. children's services should have their funding terminated until they can learn how to do their jobs overseeing incompetent people like Ms. Carter.

As a mother, my heart hurts at even the thought of another person purposefully hurting my child. Especially when that person is supposed to be responsible for nurturing and educating our little ones. What a breach of the public's faith. These two women are sadistic monsters and shouldn't be allowed near minors anymore.

This thing is a monster! I wish I could have been there to advocate for this child because it would not have worked out well, I would have not let this happen! That slob of a principal would have got what she was giving! and same goes for the other idiot that assisted! How can you convince another staff member to help with a crime? Both should rot in a prison cell.

If anyone has these two contact information I would love to have it. They can act tuff with me, and not a 6 year old! I am sure they are trying to hid out. Expose them both. Both maggots!
