Arrest of Mr. Maridhas is a threat to freedom of expression. State govt supports only the mainstream media in Tamilnadu and tries to muzzle the voices that challenge the govt. Mainstream media in Tamilnadu never talks about the real issues in TN. Mr. Maridhas is one of the few who challenges the govt with facts and figures.

This is not the first instance. Earlier M/s Kishore K.Swamy and Mr. Kalyanaraman have been arrested. The state Govt and the mainstream media never pays any attention to some of the youtubers, politicians and their supporters when they abuse the PM, previous dispensation and a particular section of the people. There are instances where some of them have made Anti national statements. They have been left scot-free. As a matter of fact, they are hailed for casting aspersions.

We hereby urge the Central Govt and well meaning bureaucrats to take note of this and intervene to ensure that such excesses don't happen in TN again. We demand the release of M/s Kishore K. Swamy, Kalyanaraman and Maridhas.
