School should start later one day a week. Starting school later one day a week will let teens catch up on sleep. A study showed that when schools start at 8:30 or later attendance rates and graduation rates improve. The study also shows that says additional sleep boosts psychological, behavioral and academic benefits for teens. Professors looked at school start times, graduation rates and attendance rates for 30,000 students in 29 schools across seven states. They found that two years after a later start at these schools, average attendance rates, and graduation rates had increased several percentage points. If teens have one day a week to catch up on sleep, and to wake up later this will help them get the right amount of sleep.
