START CLASS HOURS LATER

Students are always in haste whenever it is school day, for there is a time set for them to be on their class. Considering the possibility of heavy traffic going to their school/universities, unfinished schoolwork to complete or any accidents to come in their way. They mostly suffer from sleep deprivation or not having enough sleep because of all the deadlines they have to meet. Everyone tends to sleep late at night or worse, not having a slumber at all just to do the projects with short amount of time given to do it.
Anne Wheaton, the lead author and epidemiologist in the CDC’s Division of Population Health, stated that getting enough sleep is important for students’ health, safety, and academic performance, early school start times, however, are preventing many adolescents from getting the sleep they need. With that being said, lack of sleep affects the students' ability to excel in class, not only that but this can also affect their emotional, mental, and physical health which may lead to anxiety, depression, insomnia, and stress.
It is more difficult for teenagers to fall asleep earlier in the evening than it is for other age demographics. And while adolescents are going to bed later, their school start times are often becoming earlier as they move to middle and high school. Meaning, not enough justice for students who aims for honor by constructing and submitting the requirements with blood, sweat, and tears. Yes, there are students who are just lazy to get up from bed but students shouldn’t be generalized every time. Elementary to college students spend a minimum of 8-9 hours in class, which is longer than their sleeping hours. Most students only have a maximum of 7 hours of sleep, which is already below the recommended amount. In short, they spend most of their time in school. That's why class hours should start later in the day for excellence in education and for their health. In addition, this can also help them finish their school works on time, not neglect their other hobbies and spend more time interacting with people and spending time with their loved ones
Health is important and should be considered before beginning any academic-related works. Unfortunately, students willy-nilly are forced to sacrifice sleep in order to excel in academics. Of course there are sacrifices needed to do but not to the extent that students are obtaining illnesses because of the aftermath of sleep deprivation.
