At Houston High, over 200 trash bags are used every day after lunch. In one year, 42,480 trash bags are used! A lot of that trash is made up of food and plastic waste. By simply saving your banana peels for composting or reserving your plastic bottle for recycling, we can help cut that number down. However, Houston doesn’t have a compost/recycling program. But that can change if we get Mr. Taylor’s approval! Starting a composting/recycling program will take us one step closer to reducing our waste and making our school environmentally friendly. Help us by signing this petition so we can show Mr. Taylor that our school needs to change!
