Brighton & Hove buses have never put the 12x Brighton to Eastbourne back on after the pandemic. The first bus runs from Brighton at 9am. This is far to late for those working along the route and has seen an increase of traffic as people are using their cars, if they drive, rather than take the much longer journey on the alternative buses.

There are buses running on that route but they take almost double the time. The 12a is a stopping service and additionally runs via the industrial area of Newhaven and reaidential area of Seaford.

The 12 is a stopping service and like the 12a is timed at certain stops so it can sit and wait for up to 10 mins to catch up to the timetable.

Please can we ask Brighton & Hove buses to bring back at least 1 if not 2 services and hour between 7 and 9am and to extend the Eastbourne to Brighton 12x service to run after 5pm so people can use the service to return home.

It is evermore important to consider using public transport from an environmental view point removing more cars feom the roads and utilising critical public transport routes and from a financial viewpoint. The rising cost of living means that families and individuals are looking to save money at every opportunity. Petrol and the cost of running a car could be saved as well as childcare costs just by reducing the journey time to and from work by half.
